Ryan Seacrest Is Leaving Live With Kelly and Ryan

Ryan Seacrest, the famed co-host of Live With Kelly and Ryan, has recently announced his departure from the fan-favorite show. Seacrest has decided to leave after co-hosting the show for the better part of a decade, alongside Kelly Ripa, since replacing Michael Strahan in 2017.

The Star Host

A renowned host, Ryan Seacrest, age 48, has been a fan-favorite face on TV. He has hosted an endless number of red-carpet events. He has also hosted every episode of all 19 seasons of American Idol. Since 2005, he has been a consistent part of the legendary segment Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Seacrest was also involved in various Olympics coverage, radio, and TV productions.

The Friendship

With his extensive experience in the field and charming on-screen persona, Ryan Seacrest was easily a natural fit to substitute Michael Strahan as a co-host on Live With Kelly and Ryan. They were already long-time friends, for almost 20 years. The deep bond between the two friends perfectly translated into a seamless and enjoyable co-hosting dynamic on the show. This almost familial bond has made Seacrest’s recent announcement bittersweet for both.

The Reaction

While sharing her reaction to the announcement, Kelly Ripa told the media that they had known each other for a long time, and Seacrest has been like the kid brother she never had. They both trust and respect each other and share a unique off-camera bond that’s quite rare. In a statement after announcing his leave from Live With Kelly and Ryan, Ryan Seacrest pondered on their mutual bond too. He said that working with Kelly as a co-host for the last six years was a dream and one of the best highlights of his entire career. Also referring to Kelly as a great friend, confidant, and partner, Seacrest finally expressed that although they will remain a part of each other’s lives forever, he would miss their mornings together.
