Dolly Parton and Her Private Life
The country music icon has a new book, Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, in which she talks about how she and her husband, Dean, have kept their personal lives so private that there have been people who have personally told her that they don’t believe her husband is real.
The 74-year-old icon elaborated in an interview with Rachel Smith from ET by saying that because he doesn’t want to be in the spotlight, people don’t think he’s real. However, Parton said that being in the spotlight is not who he is. He’s more of a quiet and reserved person who figures that if he ever gets out there he’ll never have a minute of peace.
Dolly Parton has always appreciated and respected that part of Dean, and she’s always tried to keep him out of the spotlight as much as possible. She also talked about how he didn’t choose the world she’s in, but he did choose her. He believes that they can keep their lives separate and together, which is what they’ve been doing for the past 56 years, 54 of them as a married couple.
Never Looking Back
On May 30th, 1966, Dolly Parton and Dean Carl tied the knot in Ringgold, Georgia, and decided to never look back. When people asked Dolly why their marriage has lasted so long, she has joked that she stays gone. By this, she meant that they’re not in each other’s faces. They both have a lot of fun together and they both share a great sense of humor. The two also have similar tastes. This includes traveling together in their RV.
